    2nd annual Idaho Hang-dblhmmck

Here are the pics from my trip to Idaho. This is a supplemental view of the post made by pgibson, "2nd Annual Idaho Hang Trip Report (as usual lots of pics!)" It was a great pleasure, and I met some fellow hammock hangers; pgibson, MuseJr, and Weird1 (who didn't seem weird).

On my first night in, I set up the hammock perched near Alpine Lake looking back towards Redfish Lake.

The next morning, I made the ascent to the upper lakes. This is the side I came up.

This is the side with the upper lakes, the Sawtooths are stunningly beautiful.

I believe this is Packrat Peak.

I camped by the first of the upper lakes.

The descent was more challenging due to warmer conditions making the snow melt.

This concludes the photos from the hiking portion, and I met up with the Idaho crew for the camping portion. I had such a fun time, I am sure that I will return there.

DblH, enjoyed your pics! Looks like there were 3 dif groups from HF hiking in the Sawtooths, over at least partially similar routes, within a couple of weeks of each other. This year, the STs really drew a crowd (from HF)!

All of you guys generally got much higher quality pics than my group did ( I've still got to get the pics from my friend, maybe his came out better). Most of my pics of the peaks came out poorly. But I like this pic. Because, if you look over just to my left and across the lake, you can see a nice waterfall pouring into the lake from the other lake just above it. You know, it is just a really, really nice area. And boy was that water cold!

Double had planned to meet up with us a couple days into the ID hang, but we missed him on the hill. We finally caught up in the afternoon we all hiked out. He was a couple hours behind us taking the shuttle boat.

Well your photo of the lake looks mighty good. My first night in the Sawtooths was a little hazy in the evening. That cleared out with the thunderstorms. The shadows and lighting of those puffy clouds gave some excellent contrast to those granite peaks while I went over the pass near Packrat Peak.

Yeah, my job and relationship responsibilities seemed to conspire against my getting away at all. Arriving late made it difficult to find the group even though I had followed the planned route. I was just practicing the credo of HYOH, and it worked out great actually
