Arrow Videos: Epic 6 Day Adventure in a Waterfall Wonderland

    Hi there Hammock Forum Members,

I’ve just come back from a great little adventure! I’ve been walking a walk called, The Gold Coast Hinterland Great Walk.

I saw about 40 or 50 very nice waterfalls in 3 separate sections of the walk. Walked 132 Kilometres (82 Miles) of which about half was in a lush, world heritage listed rainforest called, Lamington National Park. I spent 4 glorious nights hanging out in my fabulous hammock set up, plus one not so good night in a hikers lodge. I know, what was I thinking, but I’ve been planning to stay there for about 15 years, so it’s a tick on the old “things to do” list.

The Gold Coast Hinterland Great Walk video is in 4 parts, so it could be uploaded to YouTube. Then there are a further 2 parts called, Epic Return. There is 1 lot of waterfalls in the 4 part Great Walk and 2 lots of waterfalls in the 2 Epic Return videos.

The 2 Epic Return videos cover the return journey, which includes 3 detours; 1 detour to see some caves and 2 more detours to see more wonderful waterfalls.

If you choose to watch my trip report, I really hope you enjoy it!

Hang often, hang well and hang happy!

    Part 2 14:54
Leaving Binna Burra, all kinds of unexpected interesting things around every corner, Woonoongoora Walkers’ Camp.

    Part 3 14.58
Early rain gave me an excuse to hang out in my hammock a little longer than usual, 900 steps, walk with me behind Purling Brook Falls, which drops 109 metre (357 foot).

    Part 4 04:35
Top of Purling Brook Falls, Settlement Camping Ground and the “official” end of the Great Walk. Plus... A short preview of Epic Return Part 1 & 2.

    The Epic Return
    Part 1 14:59
Hobo Road (walking it, I felt like a homeless hobo. it’s not really called Hobo Road), Caves Circuit, my stay at Binna Burra Mountain Lodge, some more of the waterfall wonderland on the Coomera Circuit.

    Hi there Gumbo,

Yes, a “places I want to see some day” bucket list is a list that just gets longer and longer. Hanging around the Hammock Forums just adds more to the list – lots of adding not enough ticking. A bit depressing if you think about it too much. Time, time, time! That’s what I like about the video trip reports, if you probably won’t ever get there, the reports are the next best thing.

So when I win the lottery, I expect that during my visit down under you will be a willing guide then?

Being a native of New Orleans transplanted to Florida, the avatar just fit. I'm glad you like it.

Of course! I’d make a great tour guide... To my left, or is that my right, oh, we’ve past it now, whatever it was. Which ways north again? No, we’re not lost, I just don’t know where we are right now, that’s all.

No, I’m just being silly! When you win lotto, you get yourself here and we’ll do some walks. Consider it booked. I’ll start making plans.
