We set up double under one tarp on Labor Day... Like fronkey said, we hung the head off one tree but on each "side" of the tree. This helped to spread us apart a little. Foot end on 2 different trees. Worked Great, no bumping into eachother like the night before when we had out foot ends on trees a lot closer to eachother.

My wife goes with me almost every time. Some times have worked better than others hanging two hammocks under one tarp! 3 trees in a triangle works good in that you arent touching(dont disturb each other with movements) but still close enough to talk and feel 'together'. This past weekend we hung using the same two trees like others were talking about one strap off one side and one off the other and it worked great this time!! We have done this many times before and it worked pretty good (my favorite option), but the key this time was that the tree on our head end was probably 36" in diameter! I had to add extensions on our 6ft tree straps to reach around and still have room to tie the MSH. On the other hand if you can't find a tree that big we have found laying head to foot with one hammock slightly higher than the other gives us enough separation even with 16-18" trees, again hanging the straps off either side. One of the main thngs I like about using the same two trees is the simplicity of hanging the tarp and we like the closeness.

Same weekend as your Northern Hang, I think--Oct 15-18. Exact location undecided, but likely Temperance River somewhere or other. I have a DIY tarp that I am thinking of either pitching wide at the bottom to accomodate both, or over parallel ridgelines. I'll be doing a little R&D in the back yard "Utility Muffin Hammock Research Kitchen."

Hey Shug! Still holdin' down the Southern region of Sector Seven here, he he.

Thanks--some of the solutions pictured at that link look complex--I'd have no problem implementing them, but they look like they'd vary a lot when bearing weight--and both hammockers'd have to syncronize their potty breaks so's not to slingshot the other into the night!

Parallel trees, or just separate hangin' would be fine for us.

Hey, I do have a question. You mentioned a "shuttle" in one of your recent video treats. What shuttle were you referring to? (SEE: espresso pot segment).

Yeah, we weren't all cozied up next to each other, but it was close enough that we could both lay in the hammocks and chat until the sun went down.
A lovely solution. Not cozied up--that's par for the course when not ground-dwelling. But still close enough to still bother her with my snorin'~!
    Thanks for the photo.

If you're asking me, that is a Kelty Noah 12x12. 3 "ridgelines" to give it the honeymoon suite as someone put it... lol
