For me, it was simple matter of comfort. Don't get me wrong, the Circuit is a great pack, but no matter how I tried on the 3 hikes I took it on, I just couldn't get it as comfortable as my Catalyst. I would, and will, be more than happy to give a big thumbs up to the Circuit for others. It's a great pack for other people, but just not a good fit for me.
