    Noob from MI

Ran into a crew of you on the North Manitou trip over the weekend and got interested in learning more about hammocks. I'm currently a tent/bag/pad guy, weighing in at about 6.5lb between the three. It'd be great to have other options, especially for winter, though will mostly be lurking and learning for now!

Some of my trip pics (and some random day hike pics, etc) including the latest N. Manitou pics, are here: http://www.umich.edu/~olmsnj/photos.html

    Welcome from Pa.!
You came to the right place to learn about hammocks.

I enjoyed your photos of your trips.
As well as the photos of your DIY projects - love the patio and steps!

bloomgorge: definitely keep me in mind for that. I practically live there in my kayak -- Halfmoon, Watson, Blind, Bruin, Patterson lake, etc. Pinckney Rec area is excellent. I've hiked the Potawatomi a couple times in spring to ramp up for a hiking trip. It's a nice area, so, yeah I'd love to join in if possible.

Yup -- she holds her own. Probably won't catch her camping in the snow but anything else I do she joins in on. We were grumbling alongside each other while climbing the runner's "up" trail on Mt Marathon in Alaska. http://www.seward.com/news-events/ma.../MMR%20Map.jpg

Always glad for an opportunity to take a look at a setup -- thanks for the offer!
