    Suspension conversion complete

Well, I converted my HH UL BP to a whoopie sling (sorry for shaky camera):

Now my problem is the fly. The hammock and the fly used to fit in the snakeskins, but now if I have another suspension, the snakeskins won't work on both. I guess I'll have to use them on just the fly and stuff the hammock into a pack. Any other whoopie-converters have a suggestion on the fly and/or how to suspend it?

make a CRL for your fly. That is what I did and it worked great.

I like that setup. How much distance from the bugnet ridge line and the fly? How did you attach the fly to the hammock suspension?

As you look at it, there is about 6" of space between the bugnet and the Hammock's RL. That distance gets longer when you get into the hammock and it sags.
The fly is attached to the trees with a CRL and is not attached to the hammocks suspension at all. The corners of the tarp have tarp tensioners on them. The side pullouts of the hammock (made with shock cord) are run thru the mitten clips on the corners of the tarp and help keep the tarp under tension and pitched nice and tight.

Did that answer your questions? Let me know if you have more questions.

Hi, for some reason I didn't see your reply to this until now... :/

I guess what was confusing me was it looks like the snakeskins go around hammock and fly. Wondering how you pitch it? The fly first and then the hammock hangs on the snakeskins and then you pitch the hammock?

Thanks and sorry for the long delay...
