As I am in the UK, tediously I got stung by customs on the way back despite 2QZQ's help in labelling the package.
Turns out Customs and Excise in the UK charge VAT not only on the repair but on the in and outward bound freight costs as well. Always manage to get their pound of flesh :roll eyes:
For anyone else in the U.K. apparently you can complete a form prior to shipping to the states stating it's a temporary export for non-commercial use (repair) and thereby avoid inbound customs charges. Hindsight is a wonderful thing :roll eyes:
