    I bought a Panasonic LX5. Seems to work well in low light. I only have one battery, so I didn't want to waste it the first night with hour-long exposures of the Milky Way. Some things you just have to remember without a photo.

    Regarding insulation: the UQ probably just needs adjustment, so I'll experiment with that.
    For top cover I guess I'll have to buy a TQ/SB with better insulation. I can't expect more from my current 15 year old synthetic SB. Having more stuff (i.e. clothes) as top insulation could work but would be bulky and would probably shift during the night.
