Great stand Gary R, had been contemplating something similar for the two granddaughters.

That's a great stand that you threw together (sheesh). You must have a very precise throwing arm. I am also a hobbiest woodworker and can appreciate the time it takes to do joinery that fits properly.

What wood is this one made out of?

It also occurs to me that this being only 10 or so feet long would also make an ideal indoor stand too as it is can be made relatively decorative with different woods and it doesn't have the bottom beam back breaker in the event of a catastrophic hammock failure.

    Cheers

Yeah I did not like the idea of the Tailbone Breaker under me.
This one is just Douglas Fir studs that I stained Dark Walnut..
The stain helps hide the errors made when throwing it together.

It was a rough draft for an Inside stand.

Only hardwood I used on it are the 4 pins

With one simple mod you could make a similar stand that will hold both of them at once

Very nice, Gary. I like that stand alot. You didn't waste any time getting that made! I look forward to seeing the decorative version.

That's nice. I like the design.

Since I'm slowly converting friends into hangers, I've been contemplating adding posts to my backyard for when we want to have a BBQ/Backyard Camp Out, but something like this might be an option as well. I would make it a tad wider stance, but beyond that, it's a great looking piece considering it looks to be pine and plywood! I've certainly got plenty of that around!
