    Amsteel Question

I decided to jump into the wonderful world of DIY Whoopie Slings and ordered in some 7/64" Amsteel. I want to make sure that I received the right stuff.

Everything I have read indicates that it should have 12 strands but mine only has 8. Which is it?

Btw, Whoopies are a blast to make! I'm definitely hooked.

I do believe the 7/64 inch amsteel has eight strands. This is what you want because it's the lightest amsteel available now. It's pretty much what everyone uses now.

Both colors of 7/64th I have are 8 strands. My 1/8th is 12 strands. The 2.2mm stuff I have is 12 strands but looks like 6, go figure. They are 2 strands woven as one.

Yep 8, that's what my whoopies are made of.

What you're seeing is normal: 7/64" is 8-stranded, 1/8" and up is 12-stranded.

My 7/64 Amsteel Blue also has 8 strands. I like you have really enjoyed making them and was surprised how easy they were to make.
