    I pulled the trigger

On a wbbb 1.7 double layer, and a camo superfly late last night. I went with the webbing suspension, because right now I still can't wrap my head around those skinny whoopie slings holding my fat arse up (6'2" 325lb). My question is should I have ordered carabiners also? Is the anything else I will need for when it arrives, other than two trees of course

Got my first hike in over 20 years in about 3 weeks, and I'm sure I will be on the ground for it, but I'm looking forward to seeing a package sometime after I get back

The good thing is you can always switch out to whoopies after, it's super ez with a WBBB and there are videos to walk you through it. You won't be disappointed with your decision. You can always use standard climbing rated biners... I use Dutch clips, however I don't know if they are rated to 325+ pounds. You email Brandon on the expected delivery? It might show up in under 3 weeks. As far as anything else you need- stakes for the tarp, as well as guy lines and a ridge line for it. I really like my complete ridge line setup from Dutch: It's 1.75mm tarp line, prussic knots, a Dutch Flyz, and a Dutch Hook. I use Zing-it line for my tie outs for the tarp, really easy to keep attached to a stake cuz they hold their shape really well. I also have a small piece of shock cord tied to each corner of the tarp, so the tension stays tight as the sil-nylon stretches. There are countless options when it comes to rigging a tarp. Watch some of Shug's videos, they really help. Good luck and have fun on your trip!

I have emailed Brandon, and he said he really couldn't guarantee because he's still catching up with backorders. I'll be making a trip to rei this week, will add them to my shopping list.

As for Shugs videos, they are how I found HF. I not only watched them all, I downloaded a bunch of them and put them on a tablet to review.

Whoopies should hold you with proper rigging, just stay away from the Dynaglide ones, I think they are only rated to people around 200lbs.

Dutch's tarp ridge line can be seen here: The World's Greatest Hiker

I recommend a Dutch Hook on the other end of the tarp... can't get any simpler or lighter IMO.

340 here (losing some tho and the last weigh in was 317) but I've been hanging on dynaglide whoopies for over a year. I use em on my indoor setup, so they get alot of use. Hang with confidence on the strongest rope in the world. The stuff is amazing.

As far as needing more items...make sure you got a good uq or pad to keep the hiney warm.

    Whoopies? Bah!

I have the identical set-up as you (minus the camo). Love the straps and buckles - nothing to loose, misplace, or leave on a tree.

I use Camp Nano biners, available at Campmor, REI, and most climbing shops. There are other lightweight 'biners available as well, or just use standard ovals (cheaper). You will love teh WBBB!

If you are concerned about the 7/64" amsteel whoopies holding your weight, try using (making or possibly ordering) 1/8" amsteel. They provide a 56% increase in strength (breaking strength weight) over the smaller ones. Well worth the peace of mind, if that is what you need.

I am #200 and am confident with the 7/64" amsteel. Others here do choose to use 1/8".

I am jealous of the WBBB, btw. I really want to do a similar upgrade, myself.
