The footbox is a right triangle, 22" legs. It's attached 18" from the end of the hammock and is made from DL ripstop I picked up from Hancock Fabrics.
I roll hemmed the edges all the way around, and ran three lines of stitching through to attach to the hammock itself.

It would be hard to maintain the structural integrity of the hammock doing that.
