Rainy NH Hammock Hang - 10/1-10/2

Organizing my first hammock hang with some New England area hikers for this weekend.

We're expecting a fair bit of rain, but figure a pleasant walk in the White Mountains (under 3 miles and 1500' gain) along a stream to a cascade in autumn color would be quite nice.

Heading up Saturday afternoon, returning Sunday afternoon. I'm heading up from the Boston area if anyone wants to carpool.

If interested, send me a PM and I'll forward contact information as well. We have three people onboard so far. Experienced hikers, but fairly new to hammock hanging.

For some strange reason, I like hiking in the rain in the Whites.

I'm in Florida now but I have a place in the Whites and I'm familiar with most trails.
What trail are you planning to take?

Currently planning on heading up the Coppermine Trail to Bridal Veil Falls.

Depending on weather and inclination, we may explore the woods above in search of a couple of other waterfalls which no longer have trailed access.

Hoping for some decent fall color, and there is something about a rainy day to really make the colors POP and the waterfalls gush.

Now dontcha wish you were up in the area? I can pick you up at Logan Airport if you can fly in by noon tomorrow.

I don't have my setup completed or I would be interested.

If you have any future hangs keep me in mind.

    No problem, Ed.

Hoping to give a lot more notice for the next one. This event sort of came together this morning and I figured, "the more the merrier".

To be fair, we've got some fairly incomplete setups as well.

You'd be the only person with an UQ so far. I'm hoping to get mine delivered in the next week or so.

We're going with pads, layers, and overkill temp ratings on the sleeping bags. It's a fairly forgiving trip. There is a shelter near the falls, and it's a relatively easy walk out if circumstances force us to bail.

If you change your mind, PM.
