How to avoid overheating condensation

Tonight I will be out in the hammock in temps around the mid 40s. But when I hit the hammock around 10 pm, it will still be around 60°. I will have a goldilocks UQ, rated to the mid-low 40s, but I will be overkill on the top with a 20° Burrow with overstuff.

This is my first real experience with a Top Quilt. How do I avoid sweating so much that I become damp as the temps drop overnight?

Just looking for a little guidance from those who have been there.

think you'll find the TQ infinitely adjustable intuitively.
Keep a cap/hat of some sort handy.

dont get all nestled in until you are actually cold. I just drape it over me and let my feet dangle out. When I feel cool or cold I start getting inside of the TQ

A hat, even in the 40s? Tonight I only expect it to be below 50 for 1 hour tops, tomorrow night maybe 3-4 hours (down to 44°).

yep... I bring a hat when it's in the 50's. If your feet are cold put on a hat.

A beanie is a must-have item for me even in the 60's.
And I don't go out unless is 60's or colder, so I always have my beanie.

I think you'll be able to cope.

I'd just stick your feet and legs in and then wait until it cools down before pulling it up, even lie on top of it to start with and see how you get on. I've been doing that with my summer quilt for the last few months, last weekend was the first time for a long time that I snuggled in straight away.

Is it really that cold at the other end of Florida?
Down here at the bottom end it is suppose to cool of this weekend to a low of mid 70's. Send some of that cool air down here!!

We are going right up to the Alabama line. It is inland enough that the temp there can be very different that it is along the coast. Look at the weather channel: Jay, FL. That is not exactly where we are going, but it is the same county/latitude, about 15 miles apart. Year round, evening temps there can sometimes be as much as 15° cooler than Pensacola, just 60 miles south.

We're looking at a low of 60-ish tonight and 50-ish tomorrow night here in Gainesville. Going to try out the new PLUQ and see how it keeps me warm.

Matter of fact, I think I'm just about tired enough to do that right now...
