Just remember that you can not use the hammock during Boot Camp

When the Drill Instructor tells you do do something, do it as fast as possible and always answer SIR YES SIR loudly.

    Congrats on joining.

It occurs to me that it may ease some minds to know its a 24hr facility so there are always people there. So it wont seem out of place that I'm there at odd hours.

I think everyone is just commenting to look out for you.

I think you'll do fine. Just keep reminding yourself that it's a stealth camp, and act accordingly.

Maybe get some pics of your setup as the season changes. Could be an interesting process.

    Good luck!

Speed, volume, intensity. Ssgt. says you always show those and you'll be fine.

    This is a little disturbing.

I realize how this act exemplifies freedom, but I think it is unwise and improper for anyone to condone this activity. Think of this in perspective of a "leave no trace attitude". Sure, a single person hammocking on privately owned property does not seem to be all that intrusive. But what if everyone decided to live on another party's property without permission for an extended amount of time?

You may have gotten lucky doing it for one month. But for multiple months? Good luck. Hopefully your employer is kind enough to give you some sort of warning before terminating you. Otherwise, I could see them filing an easy civil suit against you and also face a possibility of criminal charges.

Be safe! You seem to have a future ahead of you where you won't have to worry about income, food, shelter, etc. I'd advise for you not to blow it for a few months savings when a future career is at stake.

I've tossed this idea around myself a bit. But a couple of things I think there might be issues with, in your case:

If you get caught - the gear test explanation MIGHT work... then it might not. Having been through corporate buy-out situations... most likely, they're looking for any excuse they can to cut people. Not a time to rock the boat.

You said you've done this for a month before, however I would be concerned with the psychological wear of having to hide every workday for several months. In my experience the biggest challenge with stealthing isn't being caught (this seldom happens to people who are careful enough), it's the fear of being caught. Also if you've thought of this place as somewhere you can go to do things that are, shall we say... unsanctioned, there's a good chance someone else there has, who knows what that could be.

My advice would be to look up GIS maps for nearby locations that are property of the city / county, little corners of undeveloped land out of the way not too far from work. There just doesn't seem to be any advantage, aside from proximity, to staying someplace that could get you fined AND fired, rather than just fined.

OK people listen up...there is no chance of me getting fired. Period. Case closed. Not gonna happen. I work for a military suport contract and I'm not only one of the hardest working, most knowledgable people but I'm now the golden boy for enlisting.

Don't think that I'm squating there all the time. I am just hanging there at night until I have to clock in at 5am.

The way my schedule is I usually work 9 days on and 5 days off. So I plan on staying at my gfs or driving three hours to my parents for my long weekends.

The area around work is not the greatest part of Atlanta. I'm not about to camp around here.
