Yes, they are from last weekend. A friend an I did an overnight. That picture was actually the sunrise on Sunday morning. Made the coffee just that much better.

i'd love the life of $0.50 drafts - enjoy it - once you're out growing up sucks

if i had to do it again i'd get my undergrad from MTU. eventhough the m/f ratio is 15/1 decent - i think i could find a moose.

i love the porkies,..good for you getting out.

Ah, sunrise would explain why the sun was visible in the second picture. I was looking at the photo time and got confused.

I think Tuesdays were free pool night, and the drafts were still pretty cheap. Ah the memories.....

So, what's up with the plans? At best we had a few "maybe"s, and half of them are out due to weekend problems. I personally wouldn't mind stretching it from midweek through the weekend, to open it up to those with weekend issues.

"Craig Lake State Park is the most remote state park in the system."
    This sounds great!

"Access into the park can be an adventure. Vehicles with high ground clearance are recommended."
This not so much. My only ride is a '94 lincoln town car. I scrape my tailpipe coming out of people's driveways. lol

I already have tickets to see the play "Escanaba in da Moonlight" next month, so camping near there sounds tempting. Closer to the bridge would be convenient, though, for us trolls.

Craig Lake is a very nice location. The road isn't great, but it is doable with a sedan. I drove a Buick Century on it a few years ago without any problems. Just have to take it easy and avoid a few rocks.

I could get to camp on Thursday evening and stay until Sunday.

So, to those interested in going, what is the popular destination? Pictured Rocks, Craig Lake, or Porcupine Mountains? At least Thursday - Sunday.

wow, nothing eh? As for myself, I was kind of waiting, wanting to hear what everyone else was thinking, but I guess there is no "everyone else", just you and me. *sigh*

Well, I just a few hours ago got back from a four day vacation. Just before I left, I was doing laundry only to find that the belt in my dryer broke. But no time to do anything about it before I had to hit the road, I left it and just came back home to a dryer full of wet half week old laundry.

Was still thinking about the possibility of heading north tomorrow.

I walked in to the house, into a COLD house, and remembered that I turned the heat all the way down before I left, so I turned it back up. Nothing. crap. Found note from gas company on door: "Congratulations, you are now hooked up to the new gas line. Please call to have it turned back on." That note was from last week, apparently the day I left. Now (a couple hours after getting home) it's after midnight. No dryer, no furnace, no hot water. November. Michigan. lol

I think at this point you better count me out too. :-( I've got stuff to take care of. Sorry.

The joys of being a homeowner...

I'll probably spend some time in the Porkies this weekend then. If anyone is up for it, let me know!

I picked up a new dryer belt this morning, and the gas company is coming out tomorrow to turn me back on. I still haven't given up on the idea of getting up there, but it's a long shot. Enjoy the Porkies. If I do make it up, I probably won't make it much past the bridge. St. Ignace is already a five hour drive.
