Place to hang near Clemson, SC?

I'm going to the Clemson/Boston College football game this weekend and I'd like to find a place to hang nearby. I'd need to be able to set up in the dark on Saturday night and if possible, be within 15 to 30 minutes away from campus.

    Any thoughts or suggestions?

    Hey you CrankyOldGuy,
you will be up in my stompin grounds....if you are looking for a great place that is close and has showers I would say High Falls County Park on Hwy 183 they have some great sites and it is on lake keowee. I am not sure how much it is but i think the last time I stayed there it was less than 15. There is also South Cove County park too on Lake Keowee which is about the same distance. both are only about 10 to 15 mins from Death Valley Stadium. There is also Oconee Point on Lake Hartwell and it is about the same distance too. Hope this helps.

There are a myriad of places in the Pisgah National Forest, but closer to Clemson you have Lake Hartwell, Lake Jocassee, and Table Rock Mountain. I would also highly recomend the Chatoogah River area near the SC/NC/GA borders at Burrells Ford!

As a die-hard Gamecock fan, I want Clemson to win every game...except one!

And whither then? I cannot say."

Agreed Strider those would be awesome choices but none of these are any where close to being a few minutes from the stadium. Pisgah forest is NC. Sumter National is what is in the upstate.

Since I felt I needed to make a reservation (didn't want to stealth camp and state parks are on a first come basis) I called Tiger Cove Campground on Lake Hartwell in Anderson. The lady who answered the phone had never heard of anyone camping in a hammock and was all befuddled when I told her I needed trees and a quiet spot.

I hope when I get there, they'll let me pick out a spot that possibly isn't one of their designated spots but will (hopefully) be a perfect spot. I've done this before and the biggest obstacle is convincing the campground owner that I will, indeed, be "fine".
