I've been lurking here for months and figured it was about time I started to participate more. I had been looking into hammocks for about a year when I finally ordered and received a HH explorer deluxe with the complete 4 season shelter back in February right after I got my tax return back. I've spent several nights in it. I like it a lot. But I got bit by the Bug... I started by trying to implement a penny stove. I then got 50 feet each of 2 colors of 7/64" Amsteel Blue. I made 4 whoopie slings and 2 fixed loop ended bear ropes. I then fixed an old thread injector and put together a cheap hammock from material I got at wally world. I put a pair of whoopie slings on my HH and used the old ropes for my new hammock. I found a very conveniently spaced set of tree at the back of the lot at work. I have been enjoying a very relaxed set of lunch hours since then. I just order a CAB from Tinny at MBD and 60 ft of 1" webbing from DIYGearSupply. I've found that I've become somewhat of a hangging evangelist at work... I think they all think I'm crazy. I just wish I had more time to lay back and contemplate life, the universe and everything, as well as good places to hang in north central Utah. Any suggestions would be appreciated...
Looking forward to helping where I can and learning from the lot of you.
