Like I said, it's entirely possible/probable there are better knots for this application. Keep in mind, I'm doing this on a knotted end hammock so it can't pull through. The more it tries to pull through, the tighter it gets, not allowing the hammock end out. The only thing that might slip is the Marlin knot. Which is why I tossed a slippery half hitch over it when set. I laid in it with no slipping. My kids slept in their hammocks overnight without slipping and then monkey'd around and played in them the next day using it like a big swing (3 of them bouncing around in it while one tried to swing them out) without any slipping.You're putting all your tension on the end of the "marlinspike" - in a normal MSH the tension is across it, tightening it up, this is trying to pull the "spike" out.
I wouldn't trust it - try a sheet bend
Of course YMMV and you may feel comfortable with a different knot.
