FanaticFringer has talked about hanging out on the Panther Creek Trail off of US23/US441 in northeast Georgia a few miles north of the traffic light at Hollywood. I think there are plenty of spots for hammocks within the 1st mile so it isn't too remote. Seems like there was a large area just past the bridge over Panther Creek, if you don't cross the creek. FF would know of good locations but I haven't noticed him posting lately. Might pm him if there is interest in that location.

It is a beautiful trail, most people only hike the first 3.5 miles to the falls. There is a $3 per day parking fee at the trailhead on 'Old US441'. There is one nasty boulder/rock to negotiate climbing up and through before you get to the bridge. Other than that is is pretty easy as trails go, at least until you get near the falls and then there are some places with tricky footing that might make some folks nervous.

Is camping allowed there on the trail / off trail? What's a good date for folks? How long is needed for planning? May or June?

Yep I've been absent around here for ahile. Been cruising gun forums lately.
Youngblood is correct when he say's it is a beutiful trail. My favorite. Not that it means anything but Backpacker magazine rated it the best dayhike in Georgia. The most scenic trail I've been on in Georgia. Plenty of great hanging spots. I've been there around 15 times in the last 2 years. I could help coordinate this trip.

I recall signs saying you couldn't camp at the trailhead parking area but I saw plenty of campsites along the trail. Don't recall signs about not camping along the trail, are you sure about the trail part?

Your not refering to the other Panther Creek in N.Georgia are you? The one were talking about is in Habersham County. Reeper and I camped there a few weeks ago. If not I'll be doing some serious stealth camping.
