Just ordered a Hyperlite which will be my first attempt at hanging. A GA trip would give me a good opportunity to pick the brains of some vets.

I used to have a Hyperlite. Nice hammock and very light. Welcome to the forum.

I believe that's the one they are referring to. Just a few miles south of Tallulah Gorge. Been there for the first time about a month ago and it sees some serious day hiker traffic. Saw at least 30 people that Saturday.

Yea it doe see alot of daytime traffic. Especially in really nice weather. I must have past around 50 people coming out one day. In cold or real hot weather camping, the place is like a ghost town. I love it.

So...we could plan a hang out there...or would this be a semi-stelth out?

Several really big spots right off the trail for a group hang. Someone might have to get there early to grab one.

FF may better be able to answer since he seems to have a lot more experience with the area but there are several suitable areas with established campsites along the river the first 2 miles or so then it would be sparse until the falls. The falls area has lots of room and several established camp sites. Past the falls the trail is not well maintained and several blow downs which were tricky to get around.
