quick tarp set up - opinions seeked

I got this cuben tarp from Raul a while back and I'm just now getting around to messing with the ridge line tie outs. I took mason line and tied a bowline loop on each end and simply larks head knotted them to each end of the tarp. Then I simulated tying off to a tree with a couple of dutch flies. Anybody see any issues with this set up? Looking forward to opinions. This was just a quick and dirty way to get the tarp up and runnin'...

nope, thats basically how i have my SF setup. i think im using zing it, but yeah.

the only thing i could say (and im 99% sure mason covers this) is to make sure you have line with a good strength so you can crank down on it and get it tight as possible.

    enjoy your cuben napkin!!!

I dont see anything wrong with doin it that way. I put my looped end around the tree and run the free end through the loop then use my tarp flyz. Your ways keeps the lines on the tarp.

I had my tarp fly slip when I had it set up like your picture. I did not loop it around the way Dutch showed in his video to lock it and it slipped when I pulled it to tighten it. I was using no tangle line so if the mason line holds then great. Just be aware that if it does slip, just loop the line around it the way Dutch suggests to prevent it from moving.

    yes, pathetic isn't it???

Thanks guys for the input. I'm also going to make sure the flies are knotted off correctly b/c the mason line is pretty slippery.
