    Foot room in WBBB?

I just spent another test hang and as usual, a question entered my mind. When you lay with your head left and foot right, in the footbox, how much room is there for your feet? Here's what I mean: The much talked about ridge formed by the gathered end hammock never bothers me and never gives me calf pressure. I does, however, form a pretty steep slope that causes my left leg to "slide" down into the valley and join my right leg. They end up touching at the knees and ankles. About 2 am, while I was awake listening to coyotes howl, I became "aware" of the feeling of claustrophobia by my legs being forced together. The only place for my legs is a pretty narrow slot between the ridge and the side of the hammock. It might just come with the territory, much like being in a tight mummy bag comes with the territory for tenters, but I wanted your thoughts. In my bed, I sleep with feet wide, often one out of the covers. Is there a fix, or do I just accept it?

Perhaps a bridge hammock? Have you tried to use a small pierce of ccf in the foot box? It can "open up" the foot box just a bit, if it is enough, i don't know.....

To a certain extent, I think it does just come with the territory. Putting my legs in a frog like position and bending a single knee at a time are alternatives that help for me.

Have you tried sleeping with you legs in a figure "4" configuration. Right leg out straight, left leg bent at the knee and ankle tucked under the area between the knee and calf muscle of the straight leg. This works for me in a BB, CJH, ENO DN or my DIY GEH.

Thanks for the suggestions. Yes, I have found that a slight figure 4 situation makes it work. Even without it, it isn't really uncomfortable. Just something that got into my head in the middle of the night. I guess it just comes with the territory of a gathered end hammock. I don't know if a different type of hammock would allow for a little more spread out foot area, but I am still pretty happy with my WBBB.
