First off. A big thank you to Bigfoot2 for setting this trip up.
Sorry you have to pull out. But thank you because then we all got to go
Weird1, Gavinar, Rip Waverly and I hit the Obsidian Basin Friday Evening.
We hiked 3-4 miles into our first camp. First nights low temp was 27 degrees..
Needless to say I was in my 30 degree quilt and a little less than comfortable.
The second day we woke up and worked on finding sunny spots so we could defrost our water filters and get breakfast.
Didn't manage to hit the trail till about 11am. From there all I can say is the Pictures do not do this place justice. It is a mind blowing beautiful place.
We are still upload pictures but here is a good taste.
Saturday night Bgraybackpacker joined us for a night.
Sunday morning Weird1 and I broke from the group to head
out as they were going to head off to another location for
another night involving some hotsprings. So... To be continued?
