    Black Mountain Crest Trail

Well the Clark NX-250 out performed on this hike that is said to be the most strenuous and hardest hike in the Eastern United States well lets just say it kicked every inch of my butt! So when it was time to lay down thank God I was in a hammock instead of the hard ground here are some pics of the trip sorry no pics of the hammock as I was in a hurry to get back on this grueling trail as the temps were frigid and the winds were around 30 mph on top of the crests.
BTW I could see the jealousy in the eyes of the tent campers when they seen the Clark go up and they found out my entire hammock setup was actually lighter than their tent setup.
Noted I also completed the trip in Chaco Z1s with smart wool socks and they thought I was crazy for hiking in sandals but my feet were thankful.

I started at the bottom of Mt. Mitchell at a car camp site which was full when i arrived and 10:30 so had to drive down the back road where i saw a fire pit and 2 trees that were perfect took the Mitchell trail to the summit and then Deep Gap trail to the other summits and out correct me if I'm wrong but I think it was balsam where you can park at the cemetery and I hike every trip in my chacos as well love them but need to figure out what to do in the snow maybe neoprene don't know but I do know I'm not wearing boots.

I've been in NC my whole life and last month was the first time I'd ever been to Mitchell. It was a game changer. I can't wait to get back. I'd LOVE to camp that area somewhere remote...

Black mountain campground @1900ft then we took Mt. mitchell trail 5.5miles to summit @6684ft then we took crest trail/deep gap trail 4.6 to deep gap campsite @5000ft. we continued the crest trail and thru the ridgelines. we probably passed 8 mountain peaks all above 6000ft then end up at Bowlins creek @2000ft at the cemetery.
