    Hancock's Fleece

So in case anyone is unaware, Hancock Fabrics has nearly all their fleece on sale for %50 off. I believe the sale ends tomorrow, but it may last until the end of the month. I was unaware when I went into the store today and now wish I had picked up more than a single yard from the remnants pile.

Yeah, I noticed it today while I was adding to the pile of fabrics for unfinished projects.

I've never bought fleece but I want to make some wristies. Don't have a local store but the 50% off is also online.

Is there much difference in different fleeces? Is it something I can order online or should I see it to know if it's any good?

I once bought a fleece blanket at WW to cut up into footed hammock blankets. It was around 1/8" thick, heavy and stiff, it has finally softened some after a few washings. I bought some from Hancocks recently that is a little lighter and as soft as a babies behind. I have seen some that is so thin and light it looks like it will rip at any moment. I like to lay on hands when looking at fabrics like fleece since there seems to be many variables when it comes to fleece.

How much are you needing for the wristies hppyfngy? I have 2 pieces of scrap from the blanket fleece.

Thanks OD, I think I just have to find some locally. From the sorry stuff I saw at WW, I think you're right, I have to put my hands on it. There are a few places. Still making my list (Christmas presents) so not even sure what I need yet...

Thanks a lot just the same.

I bought some fleece myself recently for wristies. I have a bunch left, not enough for a blanket. Any ideas on what else you can make?

Haven't read the post on the wristies but I have a piece 18"x18", yours if you want it. The heavy fleece blankets at WW are $5.00 for a twin, come in tan, gray and light blue maybe a light green. King/Queens are $10.00 that's a lot of fleece for $10.00.

Additional projects I'm considering are scarf, light toque/beanie, frost bib, diy Snuggies as christmas presents, trousers, vest/jacket (possibly a 3 layer fleece with Insul-brite as the middle layer to make it toasty warm).

I'm sure I'll come up with additional projects, just remember to keep away from flames unless you like a good 2nd/3rd degree burn.

    Now you have me thinking!

Neck gaiters! I like the idea of the beanie too. That seems like it could be tough to get the roundness.
