    just bought my 1st HH

UltraLight Explorer + Snakeskins + TreeHuggers + Rain Funnels

ill try it out in a few days and report back

see if they're as good as people say

how do people mount them with carabiners? just slip the carabiner in the treehugger and then adjust the rope? what knot on the rope?

I like my UL Explorer. Lots of room, and pretty light.

What you suggest about carabiners and tree huggers will work. Back when I mounted things this way I used a round turn with two half hitches.

You can easily do one better though....see the thread about the Trucker's Hitch.

    Congrats Anarky321.

Let us know how it goes!

I'm interested in the rain funnels, but I suppose you'd still have to treat the water depending on whether there's bird droppings and such on your tarp... I can see using them for drinking water if there's no other water around, I guess...

    Anyway, congrats!

I just run my rope thru the tree hugger then wrap rope around biner a couple times. You can adjust by adding more wraps or sliding biner up or down. Quick and simple, I have slept many nights without any slippage. You can also just wrap on back spline if your biner works better that way.

Yep, but that is just the paracord cover, the inner rope is fine. And before someone says I should not be using "paracord" to hang with, trust me, this "paracord" will be just fine

The garda hitch with the rings is what cut the cover on that rope. The garda hitch really locks in and is hard on small diameter ropes.

ok so i got the Explorer today and tested it out and its too big for me (surprisingly) so im going to try to exchange it for a Backpacker on here or just sell it and buy a Backpacker off ebay

but as for the hammock impressions i was impressed with how comfy it is when you just roll up into a ball in it; i can see myself getting some good sleep in it
