    Scented Trash Compactor Bags?

To everyone that has used trash compactor bags to keep items dry in their packs, has anyone used scented bags? I picked up a roll of trash compactor bags but didn't realize they had a fragrance until I opened the package. My issue with this is the potential to attract critters to my pack. What are your thoughts? Thanks!

Well they advise you hang or put all smelly things into a bear Canisters.
Including deodorant, and toothpaste.. So I would opt away from scented ones.

I wouldn't use them in bear country, and would avoid them elsewhere. But, if you have a lot of them and can't exchange them...What's the big risk in Michigan--racoons and maybe black bear?

Hanging the bags isn't really desirable as it will be keeping my stuff dry - I don't want to hang my pack. There are bear UP here... I've seen them. I suppose I'll just have to find someone with a trash compactor and give them away. Ah well.

I ran into the same issue. The fragance gave me a headache pretty fast, so I had to find a solution. I took the whole roll and hung it outside for a day or two until the scent was gone. You can do individual bags if you want. Once the scent dissipated all was good, but haven't tried them in grizzly country.

I had the same problem...but I was in a rush and had to deal with it. Nothing like eating scented flavored spaghetti and drinking scented trash compactor coffee...It sucked

I just let a few hang out in my garage when I came back for a week and now the scent is gone. So they are usable again.

I was also in bear country....but never had an issue. But then again I tend to be a bit more none shalaunt (sic) then most when it comes to bears.
I miss my 4.8Lb base weight as a ground dweller...But I sure DON'T MISS the ground.

This was what I wanted to ask... Has anyone purchased non-scented trash compactor bags? Sometimes I just need to get to the point.

Sorry, can't help with the unscented. Bought a bundle at Wally World. Didn't know about the scent till I got em home. Now I can't hardly stand the smell of em, and don't have a trash compactor.
Good luck finding some without scent. Let us know if you do.

I have looked in every store around me and they are all scented. A quick search on Amazon showed this type. http://www.amazon.com/Husky-HK18WC04...pr_product_top I zoomed in on the box and it doesn't say anything about scent. Might be the way to go, but it is hard to tell.
