What is everyone doing for bottom insulation? Right now I am laying on a fleece blanket. I am thinking about either making a fleece hammock or putting my UQ on it. Although my UQ's have a permenat funk about them.

Have you tied soaking your underquits in soapy water in the tub, then carefully transporting it to the washing machine in a clothes basket to protect the baffle stitching?
I usually just use one of the insulated air mats in the house, but sometimes I use an underquilt.

Wally World sells a product called "Sports Wash" in the sporting goods department. It does a pretty good job of getting rid of odors and funk from fabrics. It says it is formulated to be safe for down as well. I am very pleased with this product.

I had the same concern, but I eventually had to wash my most used UQ when the 'funk' became overpowering. After washing/drying, I used some of the DWR spray to revive the coating, and I've been more than pleased with the results.

I have used Nikwax down wash and then wash it with the Down Proof to re-waterproof.

I've done some research on this recently. DWR fabrics (like eVent, Goretex) have their beading ability impeded by particles that come from general use; they get dirty. Washing them with detergent isn't a good idea, but stuff like Nikwax Tech Wash will clean the garment and hence restore it to near new performance. Things like Nikwax TX-Direct Wash-in will apply a DWR coat to a garment.
I haven't personally used any of this stuff, but I've noticed my Go-Lite Wizard jacket is suffering from sub-par performance and so I did some homework. I figure I'll throw it in the wash without detergent prior to getting the Tech Wash to see if that helps any. I don't believe I've washed it in the year+ I've had it.
