I've been casually looking at a SB upgrade & am coming across bags with duck down. Duck down appears to be considerably cheaper. Anyone familiar with the difference besides price? Weight to performance, pack size, ect?
I'm not interested in anything but quality goose but am curious.

Never mind. I did some research & it seems all things being equal (feather to down percentage) goose has superior loft therefore higher performance to weight.

I have recently purchased my first goose down top quilt from one of the cottage industries here.
Prior to the top quilt I used a -4 degree down filled sleeping bag, I believe it's duck down. The difference in loft and weight between the two is something to be seen. My new goose down top quilt is half the loft of my sleeping bag and it's also a -7 degree celsius quilt. There's a huge difference in loft and performance between the two bags.
