Finally...I got to the woods!
Had an overnight adventure at our local Angeles National Forest this past weekend to enjoy some good company, conversations, and gear talk.
Four of us spent a weekend to explore around the Chantry Flats section of the ANF. Our route for day was to do...
- Upper Winter Creek Trail to
- Hoegees CG - to setup base camp then hike to
- Robert's Camp Trail Junction to
- Sturtevant Falls then back to
- Robert's Camp Trail Junction to take the
- Lower Horse Trail to
- Sprucegrove CG to
- Sturtevant Camp to
- Mt. Zion Summit then back to
- Hoegees CG for some campfire fun.
Total mileage for this day was 10.5 miles with varying elevation from 2100ft. to around 3500ft.

It was a beautiful day to say the least to walk on a nice trail.

Sturtevant Falls...I know it ain't Yosemite
now we backtrack to Lower Horse Trail to see the top of the falls.

We stopped here and had some lunch and enjoyed a nice cool breeze
After lunch we head off to Mt. Zion to catch a view from the top of the mountain.
