A few days on the Foothills Trail

Me and a couple of old friends started at Oconee, SC, and hiked 30 miles over 2 1/2 days in glorious fall colors and gentle hills. This little trail is a gem. Swam twice in wild rivers and even stopped on the way out at Pumpkintown Junction for an artery clogging country ham and grits breakfast served by old ladies who called me "hon". It just doesn't get any better....

That looks to be a really nice place! I love getting out when the leaves are changing.

Thanks! Living in FLA, I don't get the fall colors much. Timed this trip perfectly! I really miss the autumn.

I'm drawn to the open country. Its where the world makes the most sense. When I put myself out there I always return with something new.
