    Future hanger from Melbourne, Australia

Hello everyone - its time I stopped lurking and started to get involved. These forums are such a wealth of information and make hanging an irresistable proposition.

With the warmer months coming up here I'm thinking it's a great opportunity to try out hanging for the first time without having to shell out for all the gear immediately. I'm tossing up between a few lightweight options for some mid-length hikes in the coming months.

I'd love to know if there are m/any people here from Melbourne - I'd love to get some local tips/knowledge and maybe even see some other rigs in action!

    Phil

Thanks (am I hijacking the thread?)

I have tried talking to / asking my favorite local outdoor shop Bogong Equipment in the city about hammock camping because they also actually sell (a limited range of) Hennessy Hammocks. Didn't seem to know too much. Apparently they sell them to people hunting but not your usual hiker.

Nice to see/hear other locals who are interests and are knowledgeable about hammocks.
