Help with thread, as in sewing

My wife and I are soon to receive our Claytors, and we are making some adjustments with strapping from strap works and will be sewing the straps to cinch buckles, etc. She is a seamstress extroidinaire, however we are not sure of what kind of thread to use. I recall reading it in a "thread" somewhere, however I cannot find it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks so much.

We are canoeing in Northern Lower Michigan this weekend and looking for some early Morels. Hope to be able to hang. The fifteen day time frame on delivery ends Thursday. Can't wait.

Thanks in advance for any guidance you may offer.

Use a high quality, 100% polyester thread. Gutterman brand is my favorite and available at Jo Ann's Fabrics.

    Thumbs up Gutterman's

Here's another vote for Gutterman's. I have read over and over about this thread being reccomended by gear makers and from (limited) personal experience it works very well.

Might consider buying it here http://www.questoutfitters.com/narro...ods.htm#THREAD
Price is cheaper I think and selection is greater than Jo-Annes and lets not forget
about the $20 a gallon gas.

    Big thanks!

You guys rock! Thanks for the quick and helpful response. My wife and I are in JoAnn Fabrics often, and thanks for the web site as well. My wife has promised to teach me to use the sewing machine. I could become a real DIY gearhead with a little knowledge. We guide canoe trips in northern michigan, and half the fun is finding new ways of doing things with gear. You know the old thing of boys and men and the price of toys. Sure applies to me. I just tell her to be thankful I am not racing cars or something crazy. Somehow that is supposed to make it better.

    Thanks again.
