just setup hammock in the dark

Well I've been wanting to get away & it just hasn't happened so I just setup my hammock & tarp out in my backyard by the firepit. Not sure if I'm going to start a fire or just go out when I get tired - suppose to go done to 34*

zero degree phoenix & 3 season burrow should keep me toasty

Just setup mine today too. The weather looks good for the next 2 weeks, so I'll be hangin' with ya in spirit. My tested setup gets me down to mid 40's so I may have a couple of bone chillers in there.

I'm envious--the Orionids meteor shower is supposed to peak tonight, too. I'm stuck inside, and even if I were in the back yard, the high school is flooding the place with light (football game) which is murder for star-gazing. Then again, the fireworks at the end are always nice, and there's something kind of soothing about dozing off to the lulling sound of a thousand car alarms simultaneously being set off, and the screams of my insanely gun-shy number two son. Now if I could just get a hold of one of those old-school blackboards and some Freddy Krueger nails, my perfect evening would be complete...

Enjoy your night... for those who can't
You're gonna need a bigger hammock

Was a good night to sleep outside. considering it was the first time I used my zero* HG phoenix - there were no cold spots. I didn't use a foot pad. I just threw it on a WBBB and it kept me warm. was only wearing a pair of wool socks, light weight cargo pants, a hoodie and a MntnGoat wool beanie. used a small fleece throw blanket for a pillow. I think it got down to about 33* last night. no winds.

Went to sleep about 1230 -- then nature called at about 0530 - so I just grabbed my TQ - went in the house & slept on the couch till 0900

attached are a few pics. I enjoyed a fire for a while in my house last night - then went out to sleep. This morning I went back out & my yellow Lab Shayna joined me for some coffee.

I'll probably leave it up for the day & go back out tonight

Oh yeah! If I had a yard like that, I don't think I'd ever spend time indoors

    Awesome setup from all angles!

Ribs always taste better down South....the piney air I reckon. Rocks look fantastic in the yard and I lobe that ol' rusty barrel in the background!
