Know your neighbors in the woods & face those concerns with facts.
Most of our fears are not based on fact
Just lay there in your comfy hammock & think about what animals could realistically be around your camp, their habits of snooping around looking for food, their fear of you & the small likelihood that you would actually have a problem with them.
I too will something make and joy in it's making

    ear plugs

I don't always use them but sometimes they are the only things that will let me sleep.

Similarly, if you have children (or access to children) set up your gear and tell them that UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES are you to be disturbed. Wait two and a half minutes and then start trying to ignore them as they "sneak" around you, tell you what their favorite color is, ask you if you are asleep yet, or hit you with a garden rake. Start with just one child (ironically, older is easier), then slowly work your way up to six.

You should be able to sleep restfully under an elevated train by then.
You're gonna need a bigger hammock

The sound of my snoring keeps most critters away from my camp, so no worries there.

I love the sounds of the outdoors... until I want to fall asleep. So I use ear plugs, the super lightweight cheap ones from Walgreens that are made of foam. They even have a little plastic case to keep them clean from debris. I bought a 25pair pack for like 4.99... I've used maybe 5 pairs and that's just because I want to get through them eventually.

I sometimes have a similar issue. At home I have to sleep with a fan by my bed. So my last trip out I got a small radio with a built in speaker and I just put it by my head with it playing pretty darn quietly.... Worked pretty well for me. This might not be the best if you're with someone, but for solo trips it's nice.
