Yesterday I placed my order for a good bit of materials from DIY Gear Supply!
Silnylon (Olive Brown) 9 yrds
Nylon Webbing (1″) 10'
Grossgrain (1″) 16'
1″ Polyester Webbing (Woodland Camo) 16'
Gütermann Mara (Brown) 1 Spool
D-Rings (1″) 6
Amsteel Blue (Gray, 1/8″) 30'
Shock Cord (1/8″) 20'
Tech Line (1.9mm) 50'
Aluminum Y Stakes (Black) 4
I also have purchased some fabric from a fellow HF member that is also on it's way.
1.1 Ripstop MARTPAT Camo 10 Yards
Looks like I have some projects to do!
-1 or 2 Hammocks with the 1.1 Ripstop
-Hex Tarp with the silnylon
-Whoopie Slings
-Tree Straps
-Various stuff Sacks
I can't wait to get started on them and even more so, put them to use on the trail. I have pretty much zero experience making DIY backpacking gear other than a bug net I threw together last week and 2 stuff sacks. Other than that I have sewn a few things like a sail for my dinghy and hundreds of cornhole bags.
Should be a learning experience and I imagine it will be fairly rewarding also.
Thank you all for posting your DIY project and guides here and throughout the internet!
