Anyone in Southern Cali- Orange County

Hi guys, I received the NX-250...i'm new to hammocking and will set it up for the first time this weekend(Oct 29th or Oct 30th). Would love to have someone who is familiar with this thing to assist and try. No overnight....just a couple hours for a look see, make sure everything is good to go. I have a weekend trip the following week. Nov 4-6th in the Sierra's and would like to make sure everything is working good. Please call 714-765-9438 if you are in the area, we can arrange a good time to meet. Thanks!

Suggest you read lots of posts here. Practice setting this up a couple of times, especially to get comfortable threading and removing the poles.Notice all the zipper pulls.

I suggest you attach ribbon to some of them. Get used to the way the weathershield zips.

As I've posted, I believe that NX-250 is more comfortable if suspended with a bit more sag than visually suggested by a barely-taut netting, and you not in it.

So, I 've attached some elastic or shock cord between the hoods and the hammock ends, to gently pull the hoods and rods back a bit. Otherwise they sag. YMMV.

    Have fun.

Ahhh...good insight! Looks like i'm on my own here in Cali. Too bad there aren't local hangs up in the Sierra's or something. Would be fun. I'm sure i'll get a bunch of "what is that" type of looks.....

Good luck Armando, I have the NA and love it. Those pockets are super handy. I am envious of the NX-250. I like the spreader bar idea.

Thanks BajaHanger, i'll post with my findings..ie- whether easy to set up and my opinion on the spreader bar. Hey how do you like the whoopie slings? I've asked around and most say they are not needed really, from a 1-10....10 being most essential, how would you rate the whoopie sling? Thank!

I'm in San Diego, about an hour south of you... I'm sure somebody's closer, though...

I might just spend Sat night in my back yard... it's been a while...

    Hi JohnSawyer,
Unfortunately, no one closer....one guy is in LA area but not free this weekend. You interested in meeting somewhere in between? Sunday for a couple hours?
