I like the sound of that idea!

I have a 90+ pound dog that loves to go into the wilderness with me, but he would definitely tear my hammock to shreds. I might have to try rigging something like that.

    Are suggesting a 'pup' tent

Great Idea. I'm headed to my backyard to try and rig this up. Thanks for the idea.

Peanuts, I just took a large square of nylon, held a smll round fishing cork in the center and then looped a piece of line around it to suspend from one end of my hammock. I plan on either staking down the corners with sticks or rocks on site. I am cutting a slit in one side and pinning it back so my dog can see out. She will not stay in it it if she cannot look out at the night sounds.

I plan on doing a better construction job on it before my next trip. This same idea should work with netting for mosquito season.

I love this discussion. My lab is almost 6 months old and I have been planning on making him some sort of shelter for under my hammock as well. I'm waiting a while to see just how big he really ends up being. Hopefully as everyone starts making there "pup" tents more pictures/videos will get posted.
