    +1 for garbage bag, although that was in my tenting days. Though it worked so well that I imagine it'll carry over.

    I do what tbone said and tie 3dead sticks together for a tripod and it has worked great for me. I look for sticks tall enough for me easily reach my pack from my hammock if I need to.

    Small biner to suspension on the head end. Pack hangs under my tarp. I zip my rain jacket over the pack to cover it from a blowing rain. Also protect the head end of my hammock somewhat. Did not affect the lay of my hammock at all.

    Put it in my kayak. If I am being a landlubber, I hang it, either with a pack cover or with a plastic bag, depending on which pack, pretty much like it were a bear bag (though from the trees I'm sleeping in, and sans food or other bear attractants).
