Howdy and welcome to the trees. There's a great source of information on here so read lots and don't be shy about asking questions. (Also I hear there's a guy in College Station whose always willing to lend a hand or give an opinon. He also has been known to play show and tell with several different types of hammocks and help folks new to hanging work through the learning curve.)

Hungry Hammock Hanger Website
Howdy from Houston. If you're looking to learn from some knowledgeable folks (not me), test out some good hammocks, and don't have any plans for the weekend of MLK Day, you should definitely check out the Caddo Lake hang. I just got my first hammock and am looking forward to meeting a lot of people and learning/seeing some cool stuff.
