    weather shield worth it?

as the title suggests I'm debating if the optional wether shield is with it (both in cost and weight) initially I was going to get them the seem like a clever idea all around but I got to thinking have I ever gotten wet under my tarp? an the answer is well no.. granted iv never been hanging in a tropical storm but iv ridden out some serious weather. so is it worth the oz's and dollars? Andy why?

and to kill two birds with one post- how useful are the pockets as insulation?
besides there obvious practical use as storage I find it hard to fathom that the could provide as significant insulation as the site claimes and if they don't I am rather disinclined to deal with the price and weigh of them (on the N.A compared to the new tropical utrla)
any way as allways thanks for the help hangers!

My goto hammock in the winter is a Clark NX200 (bigger NA). I use the weather shield when it's below 30*. It helps hold in the heat. The pockets are of little use when it's that cold. So, I use a full length UQ. I also don't care about the weight in the winter since its mostly car camping. In the summer, I use a WBBB 1.1 and save about 2lbs of dead weight.
