they are groups in different towns where folks get together to do things. I was a member of a dining out, wine drinkers, beer drinker, sushi, kayaking (3 of them), hiking, backpacking, etc
just google meetup and then select the area you live in..you never know what you may find

Neo does a great job of putting these outings together. Every one I have been to has been great, even the rainy winter hang. Just watch the Hang out/ Trip planning section here on the forum. The hangs at the Merriweather Lewis campground near Hohenwald are probably closer to you than they are to those of us in the Nashville area.
