There really is some fine and large gear collections out there. Really awesome to see them or have them described for ideas. Hoping some of the heavies like Cannibal will chime in soon enough!

LOL, it figures this thread would pop up right around the time I get close to finishing my gear closet! I posted some info in the DIY thread since I DIY this closet, but here is more info about what's in here:

Closet is just under 38" Wide, 44" Deep, and 91" tall (Without ceiling I have yet to install).

Orange Bin is going to be a "Bail Out Bin", you know, for when the Zombie Apocalypse happens and I need to get out of town. It will have Food and Gear for a couple weeks in the wild.

Green bin will be Spring/Summer warm weather gear. Which is pretty much everything that's not in the Winter Bin or BOB.

Black Bin (not yet added) will be Winter gear, where I store the overboots, insulated pants, snowshoes, etc, and anything else that I only use for snow camping.

Other shelves are just holding spare gear that I loan out to friends, or gear that I just don't use anymore. That will be trimmed down and I might add some smaller shelves or dividers to split up those sections into smaller sub-sections.

On the Aromatic cedar wall on the right I'm going to hang small things as you can see from what I started.

On the left wall, which you can't see is Slatwall populated with metal slatwall hooks, I have hanging my quilts, and packs. On the bottom left I'm going to make a small oak "bucket" to store my machetes. Behind the quilts is actually stacked floor to ceiling with an EZ up shelter, two Slumberjack cots, two Slumberjack side tables, and one 3' X 6' slumberjack aluminum roll up table. Unfortunately there is no room for the fleet of camp chairs I have, so I'm going to have to setup a chair wall in the garage, or finally buy or build a shed for gardening gear and camp/deck chairs.

I think I'll go with more aromatic cedar for the ceiling if/when I ever get around to that.

Now I just need to figure out where to put my fiance's gear!

I wish that I had a full size closet to use for my camping gear. After getting married all my camping gear got put into a tiny closet. I can't wait for us to get a house of our own, so that I can get a larger area to store my camping gear in.

And once that happens I wont feel bad about taking a photo of my gear

With both the Black Friday sales and Christmas having come and gone, I bet a lot of these closets have had some great additions added to them!

Good luck with that. I got a house and had a room but with a second kid in the chute gates my room became a corner and a shelf.

I am "allowed" one closet for my toys according to my wife. I'm trying to figure out particularly how to store the quilts that we have. I keep my motorcycle riding gear in there as well but the quilts just take up so much room.......I really need to figure a better method of storage.

I know this is an older thread, but thought it a great place to add on. My sweet daughter 9Lives agreed to share 1/2 her play house storage place with me this weekend. We had camping gear in the garage, guest room, front closet, sun porch, and every where in between. It should make getting ready for trips much easier having it all in one spot. There is even a set of small chairs to sit in while packing. If you spot the t-e-n-t just relax and focus on the hammocks.
