Talking Hey ya'll from North Carolina

Hello from Greensboro! I have been on HF for about a year, but just got around to my first hang in October. Went into the Uwharrie National Forest with some other noobies. We had a great time, and loved the comfort of sleeping with a little more altitude! Thanks to all you folks who share your wisdom and lessons learned the hard way. Yet another thanks to Shug for his videos!

I sure was glad I learned something here when a fellow noobie pulled out some rope he had in his shed to use as suspension! He spent the night with a rock caressing his spine through the hammock. Look forward to hopefully meeting some fellow hangers in the future!

Welcome from Thomasville! The Uwharrie Trail is a great area to "hang" around! Birkhead Wilderness is a favorite of mine too. Both are full of deer hunters now, but we need to do another local hang soon... If you ever need to borrow any gear just let me know...

We were actually in the Birkhead Wilderness area. I just draw a blank every time I try to remember the name of that park. Thanks!

Welcome, glad to hear you had a good time with your first hang. Now to get out there for your second and all subsequent hangs there after. We are in the planning stages for a Central NC Hang in the Raleigh-Durham area and would always love to have more hangers come out.
