    Need some advice...

I just got my new explorer asym classic in the mail yesterday, and so far I love it. I ordered it from REI cuz I had some store credit and that was the best way to spend it I thought. Anyways I got the hammock and the larger Hex Fly in addition to the standard one. I don't see a need for both, so I am considering utilizing the fabric from the standard one to make myself some doors for the hex or knock-off snakeskins, or whatever. I would like to hear some opinions on whether or not I should chop up the standard or keep it for summertime camping, does it pay to keep two tarps? What do the experts think? Happy Hanging!

    Lightstryder,

Welcome to the forum and the addiction. Glad you like the Explorer, I really like mine. Here is a thread that has some info on using both or possibly cutting up the stock tarp for griz beak type thingys. Best of luke, Huauqui

I have the hex and standard. I'm hoping to make Grizz Beaks with the standard.

i would think you could buy a few yards of sil and make whatever you wanted too alot cheaper than value of the tarp, i am guessing if you put the tarp on here you could get around $50 for it or maybe a couple bucks more

i'd keep the tarp instead of cutting it up and just buy some sil for your projects
