    Sites selling outdoor fabric

I am such a good girl...I am not hijacking the thread on Permatex seam sealer to respond to a question about fabrics...I thought I'd share what info I have on outdoor fabrics here...

Outdoor Wilderness Fabric, Inc is a good place to start...they also sell zippers, cool hardware and looky, clear vinyl for windows in fabrics...

Seattle Fabrics sells stuff that more oriented to the boating crowd but they have mosquito no-see-um mesh in various colors, which is cool....

And Specialty Outdoors kindly lists many other resources...

I hope these help some of you looking for fabric resources...

Quest Outfitters is a good business, too. questoutfitters.com If you order before their mailing time (2 or 3 pm eastern, I can't remember), they'll mail the same day.

I had a problem with one piece of fabric I ordered last time (defective coating, no way to notice it until sewing). They replaced it with a good piece for free, AND refunded my money for the 1 yard.

They're located in Florida so shipping is faster for those of us in the southeast US, vs. outfitters on the west coast.

Very good folks to deal with. Their shipping rates are very fair.

I wish QO had Climashield but I searched and it's not listed. Maybe I'll call them tomorrow to check this.

I have had numerous exchanges with both OWF and Quest. Both fantastic sources, and if they don't have something you need, shoot them an email! They have some mysterious power of getting things that they don't have listed.

yes. I got some material listed as 1.9 oz ripstop. It probably started life at 1.9 oz, but had a coating applied that was much heavier than DWR, weighs in at something like 4 oz / yd.

I think it's kinda of like shopping the dollar bin at Walmart, with a blind-fold on
