Western KY Hangers, got any Trees?

I have a need to visit someone in the Fredonia Correctional Facility in WKY, plan on doing the visit on a Saturday morning, and then camp overnite somewhere in the vicinity. Any suggestions on a good hammock friendly spot? Return route is back up the parkway headed back to Lex, so anywhere within an hour of Fred would be cool.

Saw the Pennyrile State Park, but didn't look so promising, and I may be bringing my brother along, want him to have a good 1st hang (taking my boys hammock for him). Thanks for any future advice

Try "Land Between the Lakes". You can get an overnight pass to backcountry camp. It's a nice area and close to where you'll be.

Mammoth Cave National Park is also nice, but it would be a little bit out of your way. They also allow backcountry camping with a free permit.
