    A belated epiphany...

I've since changed over to an Insultex underquilt, but I was rearranging the gear closet today, and dug out my SuperShelter. One thing I had never figured out with this thing was how to put it away...never could roll it up tight enough to get back in the stuff sack. Well, looking at it again today, I had a thought -- since the stuff sack opened at both ends, was it meant to be treated like a Bishop Bag? I threaded the line from one end through, cinched it shut, and started stuffing. The whole pad went in easily and surprisingly quickly! I don't know if that was the intent of the design, but it worked.

Of course, it suddenly occurs to me I should have paid attention to which end was the head when I was trying it...

I believe the Super Shelter is to be stored open / not stuffed, same as a sleeping bag. But that tip should work when hiking to the next campsite.

Yes, for storing, it's supposed to be open (much like sleeping bags)...however, I was mostly talking about packing it up in its stuff sack, instead of just shoving it loose into my backpack. I'm just happy I figured out a good way to get it back into the bag it came in.

Well now, that is amazing! I have managed to roll the pad up and get it back in it's sack before, but it has always just been way too much trouble to fool with. So, once I get the HHSS on the hammock, I have just left it on the hammock until it is too hot to use it. Then I just stuff everything- sometimes TQ included- into a large stuff sack or just into my pack. Other times, I took only the pad out, and put it into a dry sack with other items, then compressed it all, and put the hammock and UC into snake skins. But your method of getting it back in it's original sack never occurred to me.

So, if you're not using it would you like to sale it? I'm very interested in picking one up.

Well, I do use the undercover, just not the pad, but I'll consider it. PM me with a fair offer for either the pad alone, or the pad with undercover, and maybe we can work something out. The pad's been used maybe 3 or 4 times..the undercover about a dozen more times than that, on car camping-type trips. Both are in really good shape.
