Lightbulb Minnesota Hang (twin city area)

I know this is super late notice but I just got the night off of work tomorrow (Nov 7) and I will be going on a short overnighter down by Cannon River. I will not give the location over the internet because it is one of my secluded noise free spots that I found near the cities. It won't be much hiking unless you prefer high mileage. I have room in my car for a few others plus gear and I will be paying for gas myself (since I will be going there no matter if anyone joins me).

We will most likely be hiking in via headlamp since it gets dark at 5pm now but I enjoy that on occasion ! Let me know!

Wish I could! You should try and make it to the iowa hang this weekend and/or the other twin cities hang which I believe is the weekend after or it might be two weeks after... That is if you aren't already planning on coming

I sincerely thank you. I totally forgot about hunting season.

Danget! I haven't been out in the wilderness for weeks . Day offs for me are very rare, do I risk it?

Never heard of that but you have given me a hint on a possible new area! The spot of mine has no trails. It starts in the wilderness on the edge of a field and you have to bushwack up a stream until you hit Cannon River where it opens up into a grassland, so pretty and serene!

...and Hikingdad I wish I could make them but my internship has priority on my weekends right now so I am stuck snatching any night off possible.

check out meisville ravine sometime. very nice wooded area right along the river down there. its mainly for canoe camping but its a newer regional park so no one goes there. plus, i don't think a lot of people do the cannon as a multi day canoe camping expedition.
